Obstetrik

Obstetrics is a sub-category of gynaecology, which is also known as tocology. It deals with the monitoring of pregnancies, with the preparation of birth, as well as the actual birth, aftercare, and any associated operations. The work undertaken by midwives and maternity wards also fall under obstetrics.
