Patologia

Pathology uses tissue samples for the examination of pathological symptoms, syndromes and deformities. It looks at the etiology of diseases as well as their origin and influence on the human body. Doctors of pathology, also known as pathologists, mostly work with tissue samples from living patients, which are analysed using a microscope. Despite high-quality processes in laboratory medicine, accurate examination remains only possible via microscope. Whilst pathologists extract tissue samples from living patients, they also work with forensic units and occasionally carry out post-mortem examination in order to determine causes of death.
