Alergia

Sneezing, shortness of breath and itchy, watery eyes are the most well-known symptoms of an allergy. Triggered by contact with so-called allergens (found in animal fur or pollen, for example), the immune system recognises them as pathogens and attempts to fight them. An allergic reaction can also lead to an allergic shock, respiratory- or even circulatory arrest. Some of the most well-known allergies in Europe include hay fever, dust/mite- and animal hair allergies. According to a study by the German-based European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation, approximately 25 million people suffer from an allergy in Germany alone.
